Overview
The ETH Einführungslager is an annual introductory camp for new ETH apprentices. During this week, my team was tasked with creating a short film about the camp experience. This documentation aims to share insights on how we managed our time, skills, and tasks, serving as a guide for future teams who will be filming in the years to come.
Process
To create a comprehensive documentation for future teams, I started by gathering all relevant information about our filming process at the ETH Einführungslager.
This included reviewing our planning notes, footage logs, and any challenges we encountered during the filming week. I organized this information into key sections, such as materials, organization, programming, content and approach. By categorizing our experience, I could present the information in a logical flow, making it easier for the next team to follow and reference specific parts of the process.
Writing and Structuring the Documentation
After outlining the main content, I focused on writing each section to ensure it was both clear and practical. I wanted to include key terms and concepts that would be helpful to future teams. In each section, I highlighted useful tips, specific challenges we encountered, and the solutions we found effective.
Designing in Figma
I used Figma to create a clean, user-friendly design for the documentation. Starting with a simple layout, I applied consistent fonts, colors, and icons to make each section easy to navigate. Key information, like tips and challenges, is highlighted with color-coded boxes for quick reference.
I also created reusable components for headings and lists, making it easy to keep the document organized and visually cohesive for future teams.
Through creating this documentation, I learned the importance of clear organization. Breaking down the process into manageable sections made it easier to communicate complex ideas. I also realized how valuable it is to think ahead about future users—ensuring that the information is easy to find and apply.
